On 1 October 2012 the English version of a new web portal of the Institute of Geography and Spatial Organization PAS has been launched. The old version of the website functioned several years. It was time to change the form, content, functionality and website appearance. The website was completely rebuilt. The archaic, static HTML was abandoned for the modern Content Management System – Contao.

The benefits of that are: 

• easier access to data (e.g. research project database, employees, scientific publications etc.), 
• greater clarity of the website because of data standardization, form consistency and much more intuitive navigation, 
• new functionality and possibility of extending with external modules (e.g. forms, RSS canals, news with archive).
