“Comparative Analysis of Territorial Governance and Spatial Planning Systems in Europe” ESPON project results available
The Institute of Geography and Spatial Organization Polish Academy of Sciences participated in the ESPON research project “Comparative Analysis of Territorial Governance and Spatial Planning Systems in Europe (COMPASS)” in 2016-2018. Apart from the Institute, the project consortium consisted of 9 contractors (with TU Delft as a lead contractor) and 16 subcontractors.
The objective of the research was to compare the territorial governance and spatial planning systems in Europe and their role in formulation and implementation of the EU cohesion policy, with emphasis on changes in territorial governance and spatial planning systems to be observed and best-practices for cross-fertilisation EU development policies.
