Bridge2East CE – A new international project at the IGSO PAS

We are pleased to announce that the Institute of Geography and Spatial Organization of the Polish Academy of Sciences has launched the Bridge2EastCE project (Interreg Central Europe), in cooperation with Research Institute for National Strategy – lead partner (Hungary), University of Prešov (Slovakia), Tisza EGTC (Hungary), Self-government of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County (Hungary), Rzeszów Regional Development Agency (Poland), Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association (Romania), Association Velke Kapusany and Surrounding (Slovakia), University of Pannonia (Hunagry), The Marshal’s Office of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship in Rzeszów (Poland) and Association of Border Municipalities of Transcarpathia (Ukraine).
The Bridge2EastCE project aims to examine the impacts of Russian aggression against Ukraine on the EU’s peripheral regions while also promoting their cooperation and coordinated development planning. The initiative seeks to establish an interregional framework for territorial planning cooperation and governance covering selected regions of Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania, with the goal of strengthening and utilizing the “bridge” role of these border regions.
