This project attempts to identify the responses of rivers to anthropogenic changes in Poland and Latvia. Understanding the river responses can be a strong basis for designing the path towards sustainability in urban areas. Three rivers are chosen for our study: the Rudawa (Krakow, Poland) and the Marupite and Tervete (Riga, Latvia). These rivers have undergone major changes over the years as a result of human activity, which has led to increasingly intensive watercourse use, land use and urban development.
