The current project is continuation of long lasting cooperation between Institute of Geography and Spatial Organization PAS and Centre for Regional Studies HAS. Previous cooperation focused on European Union enlargement effect in social, economic and spatial dimension in both countries. The aim of this project is to uncover crisis factors influencing spatial transformation processes within the Visegrad countries and its regions, with the application of empirical studies. This might lead to a better understanding of territorial inequalities and practices of mitigation of those.

There is planned bilateral exchange of workers and participation of both research team members in conferences organized in Poland and Hungary.
