(project promotorski)

The main research objective of the project is to identify endogenous factors of socio-economic development of rural areas in Mazowieckie voivodeship. The internal factors of development are understood by areas’ own potential or a combination of factors resulting from the location of the municipality and characteristics of its residents. The main objective of the project is to develop an index for the municipalities’ self potential. Three research questions were formulated that determine the acceptance of the study procedure:

1. What factors should be taken into account in determining the index for endogenous potential of Poland’s rural areas socio-economic development?

2. Which rural areas of Mazowieckie voivodeship are characterized by the highest values of endogenous development factors and why?

3. What self-contained variables affect the level of endogenous factors for socio-economic development of rural areas?

Research is conducted as a part of the Ph.D. title conferment procedure initiated on June 7, 2006 at the Institute of Geography and Spatial Organization PAS. The project’s result will be published as an article entitled Endogenous development factors of Mazowieckie voivodeship rural areas.
